WOOLI

Get distracted in Wooli. A serene seaside village resting between the river and sea.

Riverside Drive

Wooli is a 25 minute drive from the highway just south of Grafton. It's a comfy rural drive that helps gets you into the 'laid back' mode. When there, you have easy access to the Wooli Wooli River and Wooli Beach where the locals live in between.

There's lots of spots along the riverbanks where you can perch to have a feed (If you are an oyster lover, you are in for a treat), just chill under a tree or let the kiddies play. These are mostly in natural settings so keep an eye out for the wildlife, there's an abundance here. The most noise you will hear are the sounds that remind you of the natural surrounds, occasionally interrupted by the hum of boat motors or the distant chatter of people fishing, kayaking or canoeing on the river. It's a great place for this! Roam the streets and you will see sprinkles of the simple life that used to be. Rather explore the waterways and national park? Take the tracks and cycle-ways or get down on the beach. If you choose to hit the sand or surf, keep an eye out for dolphins. At the right time of year you might even catch the whales doing their thing. If you plan to swim or surf, sometimes it's unpatrolled. There's also some designated spots to let your pooch have a stretch. See the links below. Need fuel? You can get it on the way in. Need to recoup your supplies for the rest of your trip? Probably best to do that before or after you come in - Grafton is just up the road.

Once your done here and if you are heading north, check out Minnie Water about 15 minutes up the road. Another peaceful place to take a break.
