ILUKA

Get distracted in Iluka. The perfect place to get back to nature and stroll sweeping stretches of sand.

Iluka Beach - Off Beach Road

Via Iluka Road, just north of Yamba it's about a 15 minute drive to the main part of town that rests by the edge of the Bundjalung National Park and sits by the Clarence River. On the way in there's side-roads you can take through the national park to reach the less civilised walking tracks and the untouched Bluff Beach. Peaceful places to explore! Closer to town, there's the beautiful Iluka Beach. It beckons you to get down on the sand, hit the surf on your watercraft or paddle in the shallows. Unfortunately it isn't patrolled but if you want to cool off, there is a spot in Iluka Bay down near the Marina. You can pretty much do anything else to rejuvenate on and around all of the waterways and nature reserves: paddleboard, kitesurf, surf, kayak, throw in a line, picnic, chill in a park or walk or cycle. It's pretty flat - unless of course you head up to the lookout and the whale viewing platform at Iluka Bluff. If you do, you might just see dolphins frolicking in the sea below or whales in the distance if there between May and November. There's plenty of spots to launch the boat and for those who like to get down on the sand in a 4WD, you can do this too. There's also spots the pooch can run free and the kiddies can play. Looking for coffee and eats or to shop for novelty treats or necessities? You will find the basics here. You can also fill up with fuel. Iluka - A top spot to shake out the drive in the crisp sea air. Want to know more? See the links below.
