BYRON BAY

Get distracted in Byron Bay. Soak up the mix of modern, urban, bohemian, coastal and slightly alternative vibe.

Belongil Beach - Just north of the main Byron beach

A 15 minute drive from any direction. From the highway in the north via Ewingsdale, in the south via Bangalow Road or coming in on the coast road from Broken Head. There's also a number of other ways to get into Byron Bay - all of which are delightful drives. Being one of the more popular spots on this stretch of coast, it can get a little busy - if it's serenity you are looking for maybe head a little further south or north to one of the smaller coastal or inland towns. In saying that Byron Bay is a must see. It's abuzz with the normal things you see in coastal towns but also has splashes of life outside the mainstream.

Looking to shop? There's lots to be done here and a wide range of goodies on offer - edible, wearable, necessities and things to add to your memories. There's also most services that you, your car, your pets might need. You can pretty much park the car and stroll everywhere - along the pristine beaches, the seaside parks and along the walking trails that stretch along the coast and up to Cape Byron. Here you will reach the most eastern point of Oz and may even be treated by the sighting of whales passing by in migration season (May to November). If towing a van, might be best to park on the outskirts of the main town or down near the beach. If it's watersports you are into - you will love it here. If you have a pooch - he/she can get down on the sand on Belongil and Tallows Beach.
