CONGO

Get distracted in Congo. It's small. It's peaceful. It's a pleasant place to take a break. A nice surprise that's hard to predict when driving in.

Congo Road - By Congo Creek

Coming in from the south via Bingie Road, it will take about 10 minutes to get here. From Moruya in the north via South Head and Congo Road it takes about 15. It's a comfy drive that winds around rural residential properties on the outskirts of the Eurobodalla National Park. There's not much here in the way of shops or man-made attractions but if you like to hang out by the water, stretch your legs on the sand or on a bush track, ride your bike around the waters edge, throw in a line, paddle a canoe or hit the waves on a board without fighting crowds, it's the perfect spot for you. It's best not to swim - the beaches are unpatrolled and can sometimes be dangerous. Check out the links below. There's spots to picnic, play in a park or just sit and take it all in and public amenities in the creek side park and camping area. If you have a dog and he/she needs to have a run, take him/her down to the southern end of Congo Beach. If you do spend time here, you can't help but feel like slowing down to keep up with the pace of this unassuming town that's filled with crisp clean coastal air.
