BOODEREE NATIONAL PARK, Murrays Beach

Get distracted on Murrays Beach. Biggest attraction is a natural one.

At the end of Jervis Bay Road - A little piece of paradise

The 30 - 40 minute drive from the highway via Island Point in the south or Jervis Bay Road in the north, will take you onto to Naval College Road and through the Booderee National Park to this perfect piece of paradise. Totally unspoilt and boasting a vibrant aqua swell that creeps gently up onto perfect white sandy shores. You can't help but want to take a dip or don the snorkel gear when you see the beach. It's not patrolled but it's fairly sheltered from the wilder sea. While you are there keep an eye out for dolphins and fairy penguins who usually reside on the island you can see from the beach - Bowen Island. If you want to stretch your legs, check out the bushwalks in the links below. Make sure you take your own refreshments though, there's no shops close-by. Public amenities and spots to picnic are near the car park. Because it's a national park unfortunately you can't take pets. Although you could stay here all day, if you want to make the most of the trip in, check out some of the other beautiful beaches that wind around the bay on your way in or out, or take a stroll up to Governors Head (just on the southern side of the beach) or to Cape St George close to the entry of the park to see spectacular views of this stunning coastline. Note: there is a small fee to enter the park, but it's certainly worth it.
