BYRON The drive

Enjoy the drive along the Byron Coast. It's very picturesque !

The Pacific Highway - Heading south from Queensland...

I always find when I hit this point, I suddenly feel relaxed and super keen to get into the Byron Coastal groove. It's one of the coolest highway drives on the New South Wales coast and one of the easiest to get distracted from.

There's plenty of options to take short breaks along the way - You can divert off the highway at several points. A couple of my faves are:

1. To head up over and around the hills where you wind around lush green scenery (lots of macadamia and avocados farms) to:
*Viewing spots of the spectacular Byron coast
*Smaller hinterland towns like Newrybar, Clunes, Dunoon, Coolmanger, Bangalow and Nimbin

2. To take the coast road and drop in to coastal towns like, Lennox and Broken Head in the South, Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads in the north

Wherever you end up there's lots to do, like watersports, picnics, bushwalks, shop, chill in cafes and/or explore waterfalls and National Parks, Just to mention a few.

See a snapshot of these here on this site. If you want more info about a specific place check out the links provided at the bottom of each page.

Whatever your chosen route, enjoy the drive and do it safely !!
