Get distracted in Moonee Beach. A little bit of peaceful magic not far from Coffs Harbour.
About 5 - 10 minutes off the highway from either direction via Moonee Beach Road you will find this little gem. Don't expect to do much other than enjoy the delights that nature offers either on foot, by bike, by kayak or canoe, just sitting on the creek bank under a shady tree or while you enjoy a picnic at one of the many tables and chairs dotted along the lush and well kept grassy creek banks. It's a great place to walk across the sandy creek bed at low tide or let the kiddies safely paddle in the shallows - just make sure you are always with them - it is not patrolled. If you want to stretch your legs some more, you can take a walk across the little bridge to a bush path that will take you out to the headlands. Your dog can also stretch his/her legs but only in certain areas and on a lead. Check the local signage first. So if you are looking for some peaceful surrounds where you can see and hear the birdlife and enjoy untainted surrounds - do drop in you won't be disappointed.
