Get distracted in Sawtell. A vibrant laid back town surrounded by beautiful beaches.
Sawtell is about 10 minutes off the highway from the north (via Sawtell Road) and from the south (via Lyons Road) just south of it's bigger neighbour Coffs Harbour. If you do decide to drop you will certainly leave refreshed and rejuvenated. It's a great place to:
- Get into the relaxed groove in the centre of town. There's plenty of spots to sit and chill, eat good food and quench the thirst. All in beautiful tree-lined streets that are abuzz with locals doing their thing.
- Do a spot of shopping. There's lots of cool options here for necessities, novelties or just 'nice to haves'. There's also a good range of basic services.
- Stroll around the coastline. A top way to stretch the legs with some slight up hill climbs depending on which way you head - north or south. Both will take you to a headland. Either way you get beautiful views from all perspectives. Between May and November you might even see some whales passing by.
- Partake in any type of watersports. STAY SAFE, always swim between the flags. Head to where the surf club is (off Fourth Avenue) if you intend to take a dip. Alternatively cool off in the Sawtell Rock Pool - it's at the base of the Bonville Headland in the south.
- Want to take the pooch for a walk or let them run wild ? Want to take the 4WD for a spin on the beach ? You can do this too.
