Get distracted in Urunga. A small town with so much to give especially if you love the water.
Approximately 1- 2 minutes off the highway from both north and south. If you decide to divert into Urunga you're in for a treat, especially if you love being by or on the water. Within a minute of turning off the highway you will be by the river, where you can take your boat for a spin, go for a kayak, throw in a line, have a picnic, go for a walk, ride your bike or simply just relax. If you have time, keep driving down Atherton Drive - It's dotted with barbies and picnic spots all the way. Within minutes you will be at the Morgo Street Reserve and the Urunga Boardwalk where you can picnic, paddle, play, or go for a long walk on the 800m+ footbridge from the river to the sea. Want your dog to have a run? Check out the link below. If you need some supplies or want a coffee you will find basic services in the town. You can't miss it if you've made it this far. Best route: Turn off at the Information Centre just south of the bridge on top of the hill - Corner of Pacific Highway and Bellingen Street.
