Get distracted in Ulmarra, easy to pass through but duck down the main street you might be surprised.
Ulmarra is right on the highway. The highway itself is dotted with options to shop for unusual things and there's also a little more happening behind the scenes. There's a quaint little town just around the corner.
If you park the car it's an easy, quiet and comfortable walk around the town that's sprinkled with village type shops and the basic necessities, like newsagent and chemist.
You can grab a coffee or an ale and a bite to eat or walk just a little further down the backstreets to pull out the picnic basket in Baileys park. It oozes with pride and offers plenty of shade, lots of green grass, river views, public amenities and a children's playground.
Your pooch can join you on a stroll round town - on a lead, just check the signs. There are some spots they can be leash free, see the link below. And yes you can fill up with fuel - the station is on the highway.
Ulmarra is a great place to stop and refresh and especially good if you don't have much time.
