Get distracted in Evans Head? Refresh and revive by the river and sea within 10 - 15 minutes.
To get to this cool coastal town leave the highway at Woodburn or Broadwater. Evans Head is only small but that's what makes it so special. Don't let this fool you though - there's plenty to see and do. It's a proud seaside town that makes the most of it's pristine waterways and is surrounded by National Parks. So if you are into watersports (surfing, paddle boarding, kitesurfing, kayaking etc), boating, fishing, 4wd-ing, hiking, camping, golfing, picnicking, exploring or want to let the pooch have a run it's an ideal spot to stop - and there is plenty of room to spread out and avoid the crowds on the long stretches of sand and in the parks along the riverbanks. If planning to swim do check out the link below for when our wonderful lifesavers are on patrol and head for that beach. There's also a cool array of places to eat and drink in cafes, restaurants, clubs and pubs. Some of these are nice and close to the river and the beach. Although not shown here there is a small village of shops and eateries along Oak and Woodburn Street. You should be able to pick up whatever you need or want (like freshly baked treats!!). Check out the local links below. If you do drop in - have fun - stay safe !!
