Get distracted in Newrybar. A perfect place for a quick break.
Only minutes off the highway via Hinterland Road - about halfway between Byron Bay (North) and Ballina (south) . It's easy to pass by but when you do drop you will be glad you did.
Although it's small and only has one short main street on the Old Pacific Highway, it's filled with great food, great coffee and other cool stuff - all in totally relaxed surrounds.
Sometimes quiet, other times abuzz, especially on weekends when day-trippers and those who live close-by head there to grab a bite to eat and soak up the coastal country vibe.
A walk up and down the main street or slightly further afar is easy to do and a refreshing way to stretch the legs. It's all flat ground even though the town sits in the Byron hills.
It's a winner for the hungry and thirsty road-tripper. You can't help but leave feeling like you've been injected with fresh country air and a dash of rural charm.
