Get distracted in Broulee. A watersporter, fishermans, outdoor enthusiast and nature lovers delight.
Via Broulee Road in the south it takes about 5 minutes to reach the beach or from Mogo in the north via George Bass Drive about 10. You can do the coast road too and check out some other cool spots on the way through. There's so much to do in the great outdoors on this superb stretch of coast: A walking and cycle path stretching from the north to the south is dotted with picnic tables, spots to relax and public amenities; A crystal clear creek that's great for kayaking, canoeing, practicing your paddle boarding or playing on the sandy shores: A superb stretch of sand and surf framed by rocky outcrops that beckons those who like to surf, paddle-board, kitesurf, snorkel or fish. Stay safe though patrols are limited. If you prefer to explore or hang out with wildlife away from the crowds, there's also an island nature reserve. Don't expect to shop till you drop, or fill yourself up with edible treats, but you will find a couple of options if you scour the streets. You can pick up some basics at the supermarket on Grant Street. Best to fill up with fuel before you come in. There are some areas your pooch can have a run. For more info about any of this - see the links below. So... Got some energy to burn or prefer to just chill in the sea air? Broulee is a great place to do just that even if it's raining lightly as it was when I ducked in.
