Get distracted in Tathra. Superb spot to strech your legs, picnic, paddle, swim, surf, take in coastal views or just relax.
A 15 - 20 minute comfortable drive from the Princes Highway just south of Bega along Tathra Road. Coming in from the north it's a longer trip (about 50 minutes) and over a Mountain (Doctor George), so it's worth spending a little bit longer on the highway and taking the southern route. There's lots of options for a short or long walk, whether it be on cliff hugging trails at the top of town or a little further north, along the grassy beach foreshores or on the long stretch of sand that forms Tathra Beach. If you are into history you will find info signs sprinkled around town. Take in spectacular views in all directions, picnic by the water or in tree-shaded parks, cool off in rock pools at Kininny Bay or hit the surf on Tathra Beach. Need a feed or refreshments? Grab a bite by the beach or with clifftop views. Need supplies or fuel? Although basic, you can get them here too. Want to let your dog have a run? There's a leash free area on the northern end of Tathra Beach and other leashed areas scattered around town. Public amenities are a plenty in the areas of the main (natural) attractions. Want to know more? See the links below. A peaceful place to take a break. Wherever you go, you can hear the surf rolling in and the birdlife singing in the trees. Enjoy Tathra !
