Get distracted in Kangaroo Valley. A quaint little village that reflects it's natural surrounds.
About 30 minutes drive around the mountains west from the Princes Highway via Bomaderry in the south and from Berry in the north. If towing a van and you intend on coming back to your starting point, it will be an easier drive if you can leave it behind. Plenty of others do it though so if you have no options don't let it put you off getting distracted by Kangaroo Valley. There's a small village nestled in the valley that is brimming with arty rural charm. It's a great place to stretch your legs while doing a spot of specialty shopping or chill in a café in a charismatic laid back atmosphere. There's also a 'very visitor friendly' country pub if you are up for a counter meal and ale. You can walk your pooch on a leash and there's spots along the way they can have a drink. Need to fill up? Yes there's fuel on the west side of town. Need some groceries or special treats? You can pick up basics and some special eats in the main street. Services are limited but you can take care of some business at the local Post Office. If you feel like a paddle in a canoe or kayak, head down to the Kangaroo River on the west side of town just before the Hampden Bridge. It's also a good place to explore the shores. Looking to picnic or play in a park? There's a great spot just over the bridge. If you have the time to drop in, Kangaroo Valley will certainly make you feel like you have had a good break.
