Get distracted in Nelligen. A peaceful place to take a break on the Clyde Riverbank.
Only about 10 minutes off the highway and 15 minutes from Batemans Bay via the Kings Highway. From the east when you come down the hill, you are greeted by a view of the small village of Nelligen, resting on the banks of the sprawling Clyde River. Nelligen proudly offers clean and grassy riverbank recreation areas where you can launch your boat, paddle your kayak or canoe, paddleboard, throw in a line, picnic, play or just chill in the park and listen to the uninterrupted sounds of river life. A small exploration of town itself, just up the hill on the western banks, reveals well kept glimpses of the past and inspires a feeling of 'slow down and just relax'. There's not a lot in the way of services and shops but you can chill in a café by the river or grab a cool ale just west of town. Best to fill up with fuel before heading in. Want to walk your dog? Check the local rules.
