Get distracted on Barlings Beach. A stunning stretch of unspoiled beach that beckons you to 'just enjoy' the natural setting.
Barlings Beach is just around the corner in the north from Tomakin Beach. They are separated by Melville Point. If coming from the north or south it will only take about 10 minutes to get here from the highway turning off at Mogo in the north and Bimbimbie in the south. It's one of those places that when you stop you instantly feel relaxed and at one with nature due to the limited man made interruptions to the natural environment. There's not a lot around if you are looking to get busy or do a spot of shopping but there's plenty on offer if you just love to be by the sea. A top spot to picnic or chill on the grassy foreshores, get down on the beach and explore the rocky outcrops and small caves that frame the southern end of the beach or take a stroll along the unspoiled stretch of sand. Also a great place to throw in a line, take the kayak or paddle board for a spin or do a touch of kitesurfing or the like. The beach is unpatrolled (see the link below) but people have been seen paddling in the shallows - just take care. As the tide comes in and out a number of sheltered rock pools form - not bad spots to cool off. Do you have a pooch? You can let him/her have a run but it is a timeshare set up - check the link below and the signs at the entrance to the beach. If you are looking to escape from the busy-ness of life or the highway drive to somewhere that's simple but superb, you won't be disappointed with Barlings Beach.
