Get distracted in Murramarang, Beagle Bay. A nature lovers delight with the added bonus of a beautiful beach.
The easiest way to get to Beagle Bay in the Murramang National Park is via South Durras. It will take 10 - 15 minutes via Durras Drive and Banyandah Street. You could almost do South Durras and Beagle Bay in one trip. If you like to be amongst the wildlife while by the sea you will love this little seaside spot. It really is a nature lovers delight with local kangaroos and wallabies just lazing around on the grass and hanging out on the sand. There's shady spots to picnic and lots of room for kiddies to play. The beaches are sheltered and pretty safe if you want to have dip, go for a snorkel, throw in a line or take the kayak or tinnie for a spin (It's perfect for this and if you choose to do the latter - there is a boat ramp where the road ends). Play safe though, the beaches are not patrolled. See the link below. For those who are keen to have a good walk, the beaches are perfect for this and the small rocky outcrops are great to explore. In the south you have Mill Beach and in the north, South Durras Beach. While strolling along keep an eye out for dolphins, kangaroos and a bunch of birdlife. If you would prefer to walk in the bush, see the link below for the walking trails around this area. Don't expect to do any shopping or fill up with fuel but there is a kiosk and bistro in the Beachfront Resort - You can't miss it - it welcomes you to this beautiful place. Pets are a 'no-no' so, if you don't have a pooch on board, do drop in. You will instantly relax and come away feeling totally reinvigorated.
