Get distracted at the Maclean Ferry Rest Stop without leaving the highway.
This is a great little pitt-stop if you don't want to leave the highway. Need a feed, enjoy eating in the café that overlooks the Clarence River or pull out the picnic basket and relax on the banks. Keep your eyes on the ground, the goannas and lizards often hang around on the banks. They won't hurt you but certainly can give you a surprise. After your feed, check out the local arts and crafts in the Gallery. And of course, there are public amenities. If you have a pooch, you can walk him/her along the riverbank but you will have to keep them on a leash. If you need anything more, like groceries, fuel or other services Maclean the town is just a little further in and there is a garage just down the road to the south on the highway. A delightful rest area when you don't have time to venture too far.
