Get distracted on Tuncurry breakwall and beaches. A perfect place to hang out by the river and sea.
Much like the rest of Tuncurry, you are in for some revitalising experiences if you hang out at the break-wall and beaches. Both are only a few minutes east of town, from where you can walk along the waters edge or drive out on Beach Street. It has much more to offer than just a place to stretch the legs. A leisurely stroll often turns into chats with locals and other tourists while enjoying the natural sights and sounds in between. Although it is like most of the coastline's break-walls that help the river meet the sea, Tuncurry has some added touches that make it just that little more special, like:
- A delightful natural pool that's sheltered by the rocks
- Amenities and lots of picnic spots
- Children's and doggy playgrounds by the river and near the beach
- A great little café on the edge of the river
- A superb stretch of beach. Unfortunately it's not patrolled so best not to take a dip
It's a perfect playground for those who like to:
- Surf, kitesurf or paddleboard
- Catch a sea feed
- Take the boat or kayak for a spin
- Drive on the sand. (4WD that is)
Wildlife often add more magic to the visit:
- Birds can be heard wherever you walk
- Pelicans hang out on the rocks and foreshores
- Pods of dolphins often play in the river
- Whales pass by between May and November
Tempted? Do drop in, you won't be disappointed !
