Get distracted in Anna Bay where a small laid back village provides a gateway to a coastal playground.
About 30 minutes from the Pacific Highway via Richardson Road just off Raymond Terrace. If coming in from the north along Medowie Road it's about the same, maybe slightly longer.
Although it adds an hour onto travel, if you have the time, it's well worth the stop. It adds another dimension to 'stretching your legs' and 'exploring our coast' as the gateway to the never-ending Stockton Bight sand dunes.
There's plenty of choices for picnicking, swimming, watersports, taking the 4wd for a spin on the sand, playing in the dunes and walking your dog.
Limited in services but several options to grab some necessities, refreshments and yummy treats.
