Frederickton is easy to pass-by but it's only 5 minutes off the highway to the west if you go in via Macleay Valley Way. If you need supplies or services it's best to go via Kempsey on the way in or out. This will add about 10 - 15 minutes onto your travel time. Although it's small, Frederickton offers some great alternatives to highway food in a colourful and charismatic environment. If you are looking to picnic, go for a stroll, let the kids burn some energy or walk your dog, there's a lush grassy area on the Macleay river made just for this.
