10 - 15 minutes off the highway via Houston Mitchell Drive and about the same if coming in from Port Macquarie in the north, Lake Cathie is a pure natural gem with plenty of options to rest and revive. The foreshores are easy to access, perfect for picnics, play or just passing the time away. A good walk or short drive to where the lake and river system meets the sea - a perfect beach for surfing and fishing and designated places to walk your dog (see the link below) or take the 4WD for a spin. Looking to grab a bite to eat in relaxed surrounds or pick up some goodies for your trip? There's a small village shopping centre with some special treats just up the road. If you need to fuel up there's a station close by.
